Eivind Reierstad works with video, film, scenographic installations, performances, music and photography under the project- and artist name Ane Lan. The artist name serves as a platform for studies about identity and gender related to social, political and historical issues. The work is based on a strong sensibility for the performative with references to both art and theater history.
*Ane Lan is an adaptation of the name of one of the first suffragettes in Britain in the 1800s, Anne Land. Suffragettes were the first women`s activists who fought for women`s suffrage in Britain.
Eivind Reierstad (b. 1972, Oslo) is a graduate form the National Academy of Oslo in 2002. He has participated in numerous prestigious international exhibitions, film festivals and performances under the stage name Ane Lan, among others at the Withney Museum of American Art, NYC / Paco das Artes, São Paulo / The Barbican, London / The 51. Venice Biennale and the 10th Istanbul Biennale.
